Ahead…by a Neck!

Ahead by a Neck?

Yes, the presidential race is “neck and neck.”  Not so surprising at all.  And not so different from most ever other presidential election when a sitting President is NOT running for the office.

I see the polls every day…shifting this way and that way…from “strong” to “solid,” from “weak” to “moderate,” toward Obama, toward McCain…etc., etc….

This is going to get pretty tedious by the time Election Day arrives.   And speaking of “tedious,” I, for one, am finding the candidates speeches to be tediously repetitive.  Where are all the new ideas?  Where is the “vision thing” that a leader of the future is expected to exhibit.

About the only “vision” I have seen recently is Senator Obama’s “calm demeanor” in the face of McCain’s “surge” in the polls.  “Surge” just has to be in quotation marks, I’m sorry.

That the newspapers and broadcast media are reporting panic amongst the Obama campers while the Senator remains “calm and unflustered” is about the strongest argument the media has been able to make recently that Obama is a leader.

And where is Senator McCain?  The guy seems to have fallen off the map.  Too much coverage of Palin, which is a waste of air time and a waste of ink.  Get the PRESIDENTIAL candidate on the screen and on the stump for crying out loud!
