Falling Short of High Moral Ground
The High Moral Ground quickly proved difficult to remain atop, as the candidates have fallen (way) short of early campaign promises.
Yes, both of these men promised that they would take the high road, to run a clean campaign, to avoid personal attacks and innuendo, to address the issues, explain their positions, promote new policies, develop new initiatives, suggest new solutions, etc, etc.
In other words, we were promised a campaign of IDEAS, not slander, not outrage.
Not what we are already seeing. Why is it so easy to push off responsibility on underlings, find scapegoats, avoid issues, promise everything to everybody?
“Business as usual” is what we are getting in this campaign. And it should be beneath both these men, and their VP mates as well. How frustrating to see millions of dollars WASTED on the types of advertising we are subjected to! I say you should spend these millions to put your IDEAS in front of the voting public.
Frankly, you are wasting your time and ours with the crap that is going out over the airwaves.
I’ve had the “privilege” of previewing and commenting on proposed political announcements for both of the Presidential campaigns, and I have submitted mostly negative reactions; yet the spots still get put on the air. They do not listen. They think they know best. Seems like political campaigns are won and lost by appealing to the lowest, most debased motivations of the American public. How shameful. I am embarassed for our country.
